Utah Jazz Trade All-Star Donovan Mitchell To Cleveland Cavaliers

Donovan Mitchell, an All-Star guard, was moved by the Utah Jazz to the Cleveland Cavaliers on September 1 in an unexpected move, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

To be included in this trade, Sexton, who was still a restricted free agent, signs a four-year, $72 million fully-guaranteed contract.

Since being selected by the Utah Jazz in a trade with the Denver Nuggets for the 13th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Mitchell, 25, has served as the team's spokesperson.

Mitchell has established himself as one of the top scoring guards in the NBA after appearing in the All-Star Game for the past three seasons in a row.

The New York Knicks have been in active trade negotiations to acquire Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz over the past few weeks.

But after they recently decided to sign RJ Barrett to a new four-year rookie extension, the Jazz were forced to look elsewhere for a trade because they wanted Barrett to be included.

Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Jarett Allen are now three All-Star players for Cleveland, while Evan Mobley is a rising young star.
