Notes & Stats: Giants pull off another comeback

For the first time since 2016, the Giants have improved to 2-0 after winning two games by a combined total of four points.

The Giants triumphed in their first home opener since beating New Orleans 16-13 on September 18, 2016, which is exactly six years ago today.

In each of the previous five seasons, the Giants had dropped their opening home game. In home openers, the Giants had a 51-44-3 record, including 4-9 in MetLife Stadium.

Total offence for the Giants was 265 yards. They earned 264 yards in their previous home win, a 13-7 triumph against Philadelphia on November 28, 2021.

One week after the Giants and Tennessee Titans both ended with 19 first downs, the Panthers and Giants both finished with 18 first downs.

At the half, the score was 6-6. The Giants were tied 3-3 at halftime for the first time since December 26, 2021, in Philadelphia. That game ended in a 34-10 Giants defeat.

13-13 was the score at the end of the third quarter. Since December 29, 2019, when they played the Eagles, the Giants have not had a game that was tied going into the fourth quarter. Philadelphia triumphed, 34-17.

Since December 10, 2017, this was the first Giants game to finish tied at the end of both the first and third quarters.
