Surface Pro X gets a massive April firmware update
Both the first and second generation Surface Pro X received a major firmware update in April, with many improvements. Microsoft recently combined updates for the Surface Pro X and Surface Pro X with SQ2 processors. As of now, two ARM-based machines from Microsoft will receive the new unified firmware together. That said, this month’s update for both devices is not the same. The Surface Pro X SQ2 is getting a lot more patches than the original Surface Pro X. Interestingly though, one of Microsoft’s change blogs still lists the SQ1 and SQ2 models.

All updates are available to Surface Pro X users with the May 2019 Windows 10 update, cersion 1903. You can download it from Windows Settings > Updates and Security > Windows Update. Please note that ARM-based devices, unlike those with Intel or AMD processors, receive firmware updates in one package.
