Preschool children who attend day care centers currently do not spend enough time playing outdoors.
As reported by CNN, three-quarters of American children between the ages of 3 to 5 years who receive care in an institution, they need more physical activity, which provides an important tool both to prevent obesity, and to develop his body and their cognitive system.
As part of research, scientists talked with staff from 34 child care facilities in Cincinnati, and found that these places often emphasize more on learning in the classroom than outside it.
Among the reasons to be carried out this method, researchers found that parents and teachers sometimes fear the safety of children during the time of year so try to keep them busy indoors. Also, government’s own rules about play areas remain increasingly stringent which makes the process even more difficult.
Experts recommend that preschoolers get 90 to 120 minutes of daily activity and are taken out of the classroom or at home at least twice a day for healthy development of their minds and bodies.
