The New Jersey school district to punish the hugs
There is no policy in the New Jersey school district to punish the hugs, said on Friday a local school inspector, although a school principal told the students that these displays of affection are prohibited.
The inspector David Healy said there has been an overreaction to the words of the director, who allegedly forbade hugging more.
The district reported that Tyler Black more, principal of Matawan-Aberdeen middle school, said that her students were in a “school where no hugs” after some “incidents of inappropriate physical interactions.”
Healy said Friday that the district has the responsibility to teach children about appropriate interactions. But he added that nobody may be subject to discipline to embrace.
The superintendent said that the director acted responsibly in making the recent announcement on hugs. The age of the Matawan-Aberdeen students ranging from 11 to 14 years.
